New Single 'Save You' announced
With a first play from Zane Lowe on his Beats1 show, this shuffling, restless exercise in subtle ear-wormery sounds a little like the beautiful offspring of Nile Rodgers and The XX. Or to put it another way, like nothing except The Invisible.
The Invisible’s first album was nominated for a Mercury Music Prize. Their second was described, amongst many good things, as “incredibly uplifting and moving” (Vice). The three members of the band have played, individually or collectively, with just about everyone from Adele to St Vincent, Grace Jones, the Britten Symphonia, Jack DeJohnette, Roots Manuva, Jamie Woon, Hot Chip, Zongamin, Gramme, Yoko Ono, Beck and many others. In addition, guitarist/vocalist Dave Okumu has produced Jessie Ware and Rosie Lowe and currently has projects with Anna Calvi,
Paloma Faith, Kwabs, Lilly Wood and Eska on the go. As if all that wasn’t enough, the band will play live at the 6Music Festival next week, whilst Okumu is also musical director for the forthcoming Gil Scott Heron tribute at the Roundhouse in March. As for more music from the group itself, we aren’t allowed to tell you anything about when or what a forthcoming album from the band might be just yet, so all we can ask you to do is be patient!
